About Us

Since April 1, my dream has come true and my monastery mill has opened. In many years of working in the top hotel very close by I have made my name Müller a brand. Now I have already welcomed many old and wonderful new guests to the Klostermühle.

In this unique ancient building I can realize myself to my heart's content. The inspirations seem to jump at you. I have already realized many things and new ideas are waiting to be implemented. The mixture of old and modern is simply beautiful and so far very successful. This includes the unique breakfast room with its wooden tables. The reception area was completely new, renovated and furnished with a unique small reception with mini lounge. In doing so, I have always been strict about not destroying the charm of the old house. It took a lot to bring this little Sleeping Beauty castle back into the light. For this purpose, some trees had to give way in order to now have a dreamlike view of our beautiful monastery. Which indisputably belongs to the top sights in the southwest. The garden in front of and around the house was cleared of old hedges and shrubs and transformed into a unique gem. In addition to the blue room, there are now two other rooms with the beautiful 300 year old wood floors that have been slumbering under the carpet. These rooms now have a direct view of the monastery and each is unique and individual. Right next to the entrance is my small basement bar which invites you to linger, especially in the summer when it is very hot with natural air conditioning. The whole house was embellished with paintings by the artist Tanja Herbster. And who has fallen in love with a picture, can even buy it from me. My individual breakfast served and prepared by me is another highlight, you can enjoy it after you first got a nice coffee, cappuccino, espresso or latte macchiato from the new coffee machine. What a pick-me-up.

The Klostermühle is still with its direct bus connection, which you can even use with the Konus guest card free of charge, the perfect start for ventures of all kinds. Parking spaces and bicycle stands are abundantly available. Hikes in all directions are of course almost a must here. The Hochschwarzwald Nature Park is right on our doorstep. It is not far to Freiburg or Colmar, even to Basel it is only 1 hour. And if you like you can also explore the nearby Alsace with its unique wine culture, castles and cities like Colmar. The fantastic Markgräflerland with its beautiful towns like Staufen or Badenweiler is just in front of the Münstertal. Besides, it is one of the most beautiful and warmest wine-growing areas in Germany. The most beautiful and highest peaks of the Black Forest can be reached effortlessly in a maximum of 1 hour. Most people know the Feldberg. But you can also explore the Belchen, the second highest mountain in the Black Forest, with its unique flora and fauna. As well as take hikes to the Hochblauen. The natural peat lake Nonnenmattweiher is also very close. And if you want to stop for a bite to eat during your hikes, you can reach wonderful restaurants like the Kälblescheuer on foot. Also for bike tours, the Klostermühle is made as a starting point and destination. Highlights like the Europa-Park can be reached in 1 hour by car. Also, the Münstertal and its partner community Staufen offers a variety of cultural events and festivals. Like the Laurentiusfest, the cattle drive in autumn. The Markgräfler wine festival in Staufen and the music festival wine and music, not to forget the Middle Ages Days Stages. Here the Faust town of Staufen is brought back to the Middle Ages for a weekend. And at the end of the year still the old Staufenerder Christmas market waits for its visitors. For this you can also spend the night wonderfully in the Klostermühle. A large number of good restaurants also ensure in the Münstertal that one does not suffer any hardship in a bed and breakfast hotel. And should there be no room available in one of the top hotels, the Klostermühle is ready to step in.
